About Me

My fascination with psychology, hypnosis, beliefs, human behaviour
and what makes people act in the ways that they do, began at the age
of fifteen. Long before I ever took the courses to become qualified
in the areas that I am now, I studied ardently in the field of personal
change.
After being diagnosed with M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Fibromyalgia
at the age of seventeen, having once being a very promising and talented
championship athlete, my life had been a slow decline into worsening
health and despair. In my twenties I had four years of counselling,
which I’d sought to help support me in living with a chronic
illness. I even studied it for a year gaining a certificate, before
I began to realise that for me it was akin to placing a sticking plaster
over the wounds.
Nothing had been improving in my health, as the symptoms and emotional
issues regarding everything in my life were relatively unchanged. Eventually,
my counsellor ended my two years of therapy with her, telling me there
was little else she could help me with and that our time together had
come to an end.
My health reached its worst point when I became hospitalised and bed-bound
for a month with many newer symptoms after which it became necessary
for me to re-evaluate my life. I began to immerse myself for many years
in personal development CDs, DVDs, tapes, books and then eventually
courses and seminars, before embarking on my own studies and personal
therapy in NLP, Clinical Hypnotherapy and EFT. This included studying
the works of Anthony Robbins, Dr. Richard Bandler, Paul McKenna, Robert
Dilts, Dr. Denis Waitley and Dr. Tad James, as well as other leading
authors in NLP, Hypnosis, Healing, Health, Spirituality, and The Law
of Attraction.
I literally spent thousands of pounds on life changing psychology,
with the belief that if I listened to, watched and participated in
enough material my life would begin to change for the better. I also
entered into therapy with Alex Howard, author of “Why Me?” and
Director of The Optimum Health Clinic, Harley Street, London and started
to greatly benefit from the therapies of which I’m now qualified
in. Although recovery was slow to begin with, as I had been unwell
for so long, eventually symptoms faded and I began to recover the health
and energy I had been longing for.
As a result I became a student at The Optimum Health Clinic for eighteen
months under the tutorage of Alex Howard, Anna Duschinsky and Ashley
Meyer. There, I gained my qualifications as a Master Practitioner of
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and in Clinical Hypnotherapy, EFT
(Emotional Freedom Techniques) and Life Coaching. After completing
the courses I worked as an Assistant on their “90 Day Programme”,
helping clients in their recoveries from M.E. For more information
visit www.theoptimumhealthclinic.com.
Whilst in London I furthered my therapy training with Michael Breen,
who is well known for his work with Dr. Richard Bandler (the co-founder
of NLP) and Paul McKenna (Britain's leading hypnotist). Michael was
for many years Paul McKenna's business partner, and has significantly
contributed to revolutionising the design and delivery of NLP training
in the UK.
I
then continued my studies under Karl Dawson, one of only 28 EFT Masters
in the world, and am now an EFT (Level 3) Advanced Practitioner. Karl
is an expert in treating serious disease with EFT and in releasing
negative core beliefs from childhood. He regularly gives seminars internationally
alongside other EFT Masters and experts in energy psychology, including
Dr Carol Look, who can be found talking in the EFT video which is linked
on the EFT and Home Pages. Karl’s website can be found at www.e-f-t.co.uk
So, if you’re open to believing that these
therapies have benefited someone with an illness for which there
is no known cure, just think of the potential regarding more minor
ailments, quitting smoking, conquering fears, phobias and losing
weight.
Many therapists in this field market their expertise as “become
the person you want to be!” As much as I warm to the positivity
and hope that such a claim offers, instead I believe in and prefer
the quote, “become the person you truly are”.
I thoroughly enjoy the work that I
do, in confidently assisting people make change in their lives, and
very much look forward to hearing from you.
